Say it ain’t so, O!

This is why people hate politicians and don’t trust them. This is why people think they ALL lie. Watch this:

He calls himself a ‘Southside Kid’ but can’t name a single player? I’m sorry that is just pathetic.  Pathetic because he’s obviously lying and he got busted and tried to stammer his way out of it.

Didn’t work though.

The comments on this video show that most people saw right through it and were disgusted. There is a few that defend him and ask what the big deal is.

Here’s why it’s a big deal:

If he was honest he could have said, “Well I moved to Chicago in 19xx and I lived on the southside for x years. So I just wanted to give a shout out to my friends there”. Or, “I went to a few games when I lived there and although I was really busy, I had friends who were big Sox fans so I thought I’d wear the hat”.

But no, that’s not what he did. He totally painted himself out to be a big White Sox fan, razzing Cubs fans as he hung with the Blue-Collars calling himself a ‘Southside Kid’. I never  heard the term before so I assume it’s an inside thing in Chicago. It totally makes it sound like that’s where he’s from OR he spent so much time there he FEELS like he grew up there. (Like for me, I was born in NY but lived in Boston from age 2-11 so I feel like I am from Boston.) And he knew it because when the announcer asked him who his favorite player (only one mind you) growing up was, his answer was “Ahhhh, well, um…..” He didn’t immediately clarify that he didn’t grow up there and explain himself.

Why a big deal? Because it appears his instinct was to lie about who is, who he was and where he is from. It’s like, “Dude, you can’t even be honest about why you wore a White Sox hat at a Nationals game?”

People say all politicians lie. Well, most politicize in some way like saying the economy is great, or job losses are down or statistics show x, y or z or whatever. Politicians always watch what they say.

But something as small as this shows almost an incapability to just tell the truth, chill out and tell it like it is. That is depressing to most people. Myself included.

I, like so many others are losing more and more faith in Obama as he shows us who he is.

I’m also saddened by his pitch. I actually got a nostalgic burst of respect for Bush and his perfect strike.

Yeah that’s pretty sad too. The youtube comments on the pitch are pretty funny. Juvenile and brutal but quite funny nonetheless…

    Great post.

Think about this as Obama assures us that his health care plan will SAVE money and that his financial reform plan will clean up Wall Street.

I voted for the guy and I regret it.

    I was duped.
